A new law regarding children’s competency went into effect July 9, 2021. A panel of attorneys from West Virginia Public Defender Services Juvenile Law Task Force, Teresa McCune, Joshua Edwards, and Ashley Batten, will lead a discussion about some of the most complex issues attorneys representing children have faced while navigating the new statute, and possible solutions to those challenges.
