PDS Welcomes Its First Summer Interns of 2025

​This week, Public Defender Services welcomed its first two interns for summer 2025!

Nick Reeder, a third year law student at the West Virginia University College of Law, is coming back to PDS for his third summer as a Legal Intern: "It's good to be back! I'm excited to learn a lot from the wonderful lawyers and staff at PDS this summer and help however I can." Nick is going to be assisting with various legal projects, including working with attorneys in the Appellate and Habeas Divisions and helping compile the agency's Annual Report. After graduating from law school, Nick hopes to continue working the State of West Virginia as an attorney.

Sydney Williamson is a Governor's Intern who is going to be updating the Public Defender Services Governance Manual for 2025 in addition to helping with other projects and assignments. Sydney just finished her second year of college at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she is majoring in International Relations with a minor in Russian Studies and language. After graduating from college, she hopes to attend law school.
